Chicago Style Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 2 – 2 1/2 cups 2 – 2 1/2 All purpose flour

  • 2 tsp 2 Salt

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 Warm water

  • 2 1/4 tsp 2 1/4 Active dry yeast or 1 pkg.

  • 1 tsp 1 Granulated sugar

Directions

  • Mix water, yeast and sugar. Let set 10 minutes.
  • Add 2 cups of flour and salt, mix and knead 5 minutes by hand or with mixer using the dough hook. Add more flour as needed up to half cup more.
  • Form into a ball, coat with oil and cover with towel or plastic and set in war place for 30 minutes. (I use my oven with the light on)
  • Heat oven to 425°.
  • Grease or butter a 14 inch iron skillet or other pan. Pat the dough into the pan moving it up the sides. Fill with desired ingredients and bake @ 425° 30 – 40 minutes.
  • Cool 10 minutes before cutting.
