Classic Bread Stuffing / Dressing

1 loaf stuffing bread, cubed and dried
1 Small onion, diced
2 – 4 Stalks celery, diced
1 Stick butter, divided
2 large eggs
14 oz Broth, chicken or turkey
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Directions
- Cook onion and celery in 1 tbsp butter over medium-low heat 3 minutes. Let cool.
- Melt the remaining butter.
- In a large bowl, mix croutons, eggs, seasonings, onion and celery, melted butter and broth
- Cover with foil and bake @ 350 covered 30 minutes, remove cover and bake 15 more minutes or stuff the bird!
- *Tip* This is a great make ahead dish, just cover and refrigerate overnight. When ready to bake, set your oven to 350 degrees f, bake covered 45 minutes, uncover and bake another 15 minutes.
*Tip* Dot the top with extra butter if you like a crunchy top!
