Nothing beats a fresh ranchero on your chile rellenos or your morning omelette!

Fresh Ranchero Sauce

Ingredients

  • 8 8 Plum tomatoes

  • 1/2 1/2 Onion, medium (or 1 small), peeled

  • 6 Cloves 6 Garlic, peeled

  • 3 3 Jalapeños

  • 2 tsp 2 Powdered chicken bouillon

  • 2 tsp 2 Mexican oregano

  • 1 tsp 1 Cumin, ground

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Salt

  • 2 Cups 2 Water

  • 2 Tbsp 2 Oil

Directions

  • Char tomatoes, onion, garlic and jalapeños over a flame, grill or on broil. Do NOT burn.
  • Drop everything but the oil in a blender and puree.
  • Heat oil in pan on medium heat, pour in sauce and cook 15 minutes.
