Honey Garlic Cauliflower

This honey garlic cauliflower is so good and so full of flavor, you won’t even miss the chicken! These are deliciously crunching when made in the sir fryer. These can be baked or deep fried, also.

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: for the Cauliflower, bread crumbs, all purpose flour, eggs, olive oil, salt, paprika and pepper. The sauce includes honey, garlic, garlic powder, sriracha, onion powder, ground ginger, water, ACV .soy sauce and cornstarch.

Variations: Gluten free flour and crumbs can be used. Egg substitute can replace egg. If you don’t like heat, leave out the sriracha! Cut back on the garlic if its not your favorite or leave it out. Low sodium soy sauce can be used as well as amino acids. Apple cider vinegar is used but mirin or rice wine vinegar can be used instead.

A delicious alternative to chicken.

ingredients

  • Cauliflower
  • 1 head Cauliflower, cut into florets and rinsed

  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 tsp seasoned salt

  • 1 tsp fresh cracked black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 3 eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup bread crumbs

  • olive oil spray

  • Sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 2 tsp sriracha

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 5 tbsp water

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • Toppings
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

  • 4 green onions, sliced on the diagonal

Directions

  • Heat your over or air fryer to 425°.
  • Set your breading station: Mix flour and seasonings together in one bowl. Bread crumbs in another bowl and beaten eggs in another. Dip florets into flour, shake off the excess. Then dip into the eggs, then roll in bread crumbs. Shake of the excess and place onto a cookie sheet sprayed with olive oil. Spray florets with a little extra olive oil before baking.
  • Bake cauliflower at 425°until golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. Or cook in the air fryer at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes. Sprinkle with a little salt when they come out of the oven, if desired.
  • Make sauce: In a small sauce pan, whisk together all ingredients, them turn on heat to medium – high. Cook until sauce just comes to a boil and thickens slightly. Remove from heat, cover and set aside.
  • Ladle sauce over cauliflower, sprinkle with green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve with rice, noodles or alone.

  1. We enjoyed this. A little to spicy for us . So next time will decrease the sriracha. We just roasted the cauliflower. Made extra sauce. We will have honey garlic chicken or pork later this week( not so ugly chicken) . Thanks for the recipe. Quick supper after working outside all day.
