Yield 12 half pints

Ingredients

  • 6 lbs Apples, Cored and wedged

  • 1 cup Dark brown sugar

  • 2 cups Granulated sugar

  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp Ground cloves

  • 1/2 cup Apple cider vinegar

  • 2 1/2 cups Apple juice or apple cider

Directions

  • Toss it all in a slow cooker and cook overnight!
  • The next day, put it all through a food mill and put it in a large stock pot.
    *Note: You will have to peel them before putting them in the crockpot the day before if you will be using a blender, food processor, immersion blender or a potato masher (for chunky). Be careful, it will splatter!
  • Simmer on medium until you get to the desired consistency of “butter”.
  • Wash jars, lids and bands in hot, soapy water. Filler water bath canner with water, add clean jars and bring u to a simmer. Simmer jars 20 minutes.
  • Pour hot water over lids just before filling jars.
  • Fill hot jars leaving 1/4 in headspace.
  • Process half pints 15 minutes and pints 20 minutes.
