Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Beer Gravy

1 lb Ground beef 80/20 or 90/10
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Breadcrumbs or crushed pork rinds
1/4 cup Chili sauce
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Onion powder
1/4 cup Dried, chopped onion
1 tsp Dried parsley
1 tsp Powdered chicken bouillon
2 tbsp Lard, bacon grease or oil
- Gravy
1 cup Dark beer
2 cups Beef broth
2 tbsp All purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp Onion powder
1/4 tsp Garlic powder
2 tsp Sugar
1 cup Sliced mushrooms
1/4 Cup Onions, sliced
1 tsp Powdered beef bouillon
Directions
- Mix all ingredients for beef patties and shape into 4 oblong patties.
- Heat 2 tablespoons lard in skillet. Sear patties in lard about 3 minutes on each side. Remove patties from pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add onions and mushrooms, cook 3 minutes.
Sprinkle in flour and cook another 3 minutes.
Whisk in beer, water and the rest of the ingredients - Slide the patties back in to pan with gravy, turn heat to low, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
