Ingredients & Variations
Ingredients: Chicken thighs, white miso, oil, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, Chinese Five Spice, salt and pepper
Variations: Chicken legs or breasts can be used, a sugar substitute can replace honey, some red pepper flakes can be added for a little spark of heat and Shaoxing wine can be used in place of rice wine vinegar if desired.
Place chicken into a freezer bag or container with lid.
Mix marinade in a bowl and pour over chicken, be sure to coat each piece of chicken well.
Remove air from bag, label and freeze for up to 6 months or refrigerate for at least 2 hours and grill or bake right away.
To use: remove from freezer and place in refrigerator a day before to defrost. Bake at 375° for 25 -30 minutes until done. (juices will run clear when done) inside temp of 175°. Rest for 5 – 10 minutes before eating.
Garnish with sliced green onions and enjoy!
Notes
Extra marinade can be made with a little cornstarch and cooked on the side to serve with rice.
