My favorite biscuit recipe of all time, I make them weekly and have for my entire adult life!
Buttermilk Biscuits

2 Cups All purpose flour
1 Tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp Salt
5 Tbsp Butter, lard or shortning, chilled
1 Cup Buttermilk
Directions
- Heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Mix dry ingredients together and cut butter in to the flour mixture until it resembles “crumble”.
- Stir in buttermilk until just incorporated.
- Dump dough out on to a lightly floured surface, pat into a square 3/4 ” thick. Use a knife and simply press through dough making 12 biscuits (or more if you like them smaller). Move to a pan lined with parchment paper, Brush tops with heavy cream.
- Bake @ 425 degrees 10-12 minutes until tops start to turn golden brown.
