A delicious way to use up your home canned jams!
Dough
1 /12 Cups warm water
2 Pkg (4 1/2 tsp) instant yeast
1 Cup granulated sugar
7.5 – 9 Cups all purpose flour
4 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 Cup milk, scalded
1 Tbsp salt
2 Large eggs, beaten
16 oz Strawberry jam
In alarge mixing bowl, add warm water, yeast and a tsp of the sugar. Stir and let set 10 minutes.
When yeast is frothy, mix in the rest of the ingredients except jam and knead for 7 minutes. Add more flour if needed, 1/2 cup at a time. Dough should not be tacky but smooth and elastic.
Put dough in an oiled bowl, cover and let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours in a warm place.
Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Roll dough out to 1/2 inch, into a rectangle.
Cover with jam, all the way to the edge.
Roll up tight.
Using dental floss or a knife, cut into 2 inch slices and place in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish.
Cover and let rise 45 minutes to an hour.
Heat oven to 350 degrees f.
Bake 25 – 30 minutes ubtil golden brown.
Cream cheese Icing
1/4 Cup butter, room temp
4 oz Cream cheese, room temp
1 Cup powdered sugar
1/2 Tsp vanilla extract
Whip it all together until ligh and fluffy.
Ice the sweet rolls while they are still a little warm (Not Hot).
