Crunch, cheesy and creamy all in one bite!

Ingredients

  • Fries
  • 2 2 Medium russet potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 Cornstarch or tapioca flour

  • 3/4 tsp 3/4 Salt

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Fresh cracked black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Paprika

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 Cayenne pepper * optional

  • 1 cup 1 Shredded cheese (I use smoked gouda)

  • 3 tbsp 3 Half and half

  • Oil for frying, such as vegetable or peanut

  • Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tsp 1 1/2 Seasoned salt, such as Lawry’s

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 White pepper

  • 1 tsp 1 Onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Garlic powder

Directions

  • Boil potatoes until fork tender. Drain and set aside to cool for10 minutes.
  • Put potatoes through a ricer, mill or mesh sieve. Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir into a dough.
  • Put dough into a gallon sized freezer bag and using a rolling pin, roll into a perfect square filling the entire freezer bag. Place in freezer for 30 minutes.
  • In a heavy skillet, add an inch of oil. Place heat on medium – high. The oil is ready when you put the handle of the wooden spoon in and bubbles form around it.
  • Bring dough out of freezer and rip bag from around the dough, releasing it. Cut into “Fry” shape, as big as you want them. Fry for 2 minutes on each side until golden. Drain on paper towel or dry rack.
  • Mix seasoning together and sprinkle fries.
  • These can also be made in the air fryer by brushing them with a little oil and air fry them at 425° for 8 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
