Chicken and Rice Soup Mix

Souper easy to put together and souper easy to make! (Lol, see what I did there?) The Chicken and Rice Soup Mix is a pantry “Must Have”!!

Ingredients and variations

Ingredients: Cornstarch, powdered chicken bouillon, celery powder, onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, ground turmeric, dried parsley, freeze dried chicken, freeze dried brown rice, freeze dried celery, dried carrots, dried onion, salt and pepper.

Variations: If you freeze dried turkey from the holidays, use it in place of chicken or a freeze dried ground chicken or turkey can also be used. Use the vegetables of your choice. Milk powder can be added for a creamy version if desired. dried jalapeƱos can be added for a little kick! Dried dill, oregano and lemon powder can be added for a Greek inspired soup.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder

  • 1 tbsp celery powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning

  • 1/2 – 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 1/2 cup freeze dried chicken

  • 1 cup freeze dried rice

  • 1/4 cup freeze dried celery

  • 1/4 cup dried carrots

  • 1/2 cup dried onions

  • 1 tbsp dried parsley

  • 2 tsp dried dill *optional

  • 2 tsp lemon powder *optional

Directions

  • Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to a year.
  • To Use: Add 1/4 cup soup mix to 1 1/4 cups cold water, whisk well, bring to a boil, turn down and simmer for 6 to 10 minutes until chicken and rice are both refreshed as they will take the longest.
