Yields 20 – 24 rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Warm water (110°)

  • 2 tbsp Instant yeast

  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar or honey

  • 4 – 5 cups Bread flour

  • 1 Large egg, room temp

  • 4 tbsp Butter, melted

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 1/4 cup Dry milk powder

Directions

  • In a mixing bowl, pour in water, sprinkle yeast and a quarter of the sugar over the water. Stir slightly and set aside 10 minutes.
  • To the yeast mixture, add 4 cups bread flour and the res to the ingredients, mix well adding more flour 1/4 cup at a time until you get “shaggy” dough . Knead for 7 minutes.
  • Place dough ball into oiled bowl, making sure to coat the entire dough. Put a damp cloth over top and set in warm place to rise. (I use my oven with the light on) Let rise 30 – 45 minutes.
  • Grease a 9 x 13 baking pan and heat oven to 375°.
  • Turn dough out on to counter and cut into 20 – 24 pieces. Stretch dough out and pull in sides forming a ball. Roll on counter dragging bottom slightly, with your pinky finger, to form “feet”. Place in greased pan. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
  • Bake @ 375° 12 – 15 minutes, until tops are golden brown.
  • Butter tops slightly after they are baked. Let cool a few minutes. Pull apart with a fork.
