Easy Spicy Garlic Horseradish Mustard For The Freezer!

This homemade mustard is easy to make and deliciously horseradishy!! Stir some into sour cream or heavy cream for a delicious sauce over fish, chicken or beef, stir some into a white sauce for pasta, mix with some mayo for sandwiches with zip!! This will store well in your freezer!

Easy Spicy Garlic Horseradish Mustard

Yields 4 half pints

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Yellow mustard seeds

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Brown mustard seeds

  • 1 1/2 cups 1 1/2 Water

  • 4 oz 4 Prepared extra hot horseradish

  • 2 tbsp 2 Minced garlic

  • 1 cup 1 Apple cider vinegar or sherry vinegar, malt vinegar, white wine vinegar

  • 1 tbsp 1 Soy sauce

  • 1 1/2 tsp 1 1/2 Kosher salt

  • 1/2 – 1 tsp 1/2 – 1 Garlic powder

  • 2 tsp 2 Onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Smoked paprika

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Light brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 Mustard powder (Colman’s)

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Fresh cracked black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Cayenne pepper

Directions

  • The Day Before
  • Into a bowl or jar, add mustard seeds and water. Cover & let soak overnight.
  • The Next Day
  • Put all ingredients into a blender and blend 3 minutes.
  • Pour into a pan, bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Ladle into clean jars, cool completely, cap, label and freeze! Easy peasy!
