Garlic Knot Pepperoni Roses

Family pizza night has just been elevated. You’re welcome! Make these fun garlic knot pepperoni roses on your next pizza night. They are easy, delicious and make wonderful appetizers. Add extra ingredients and make them your own.

Ingredients and Variations

Dough: This is a soft, garlic and herb bread dough rather that pizza dough. You make the dough plain by leaving out the garlic and herbs.

Meat: I chose to use pepperoni and make roses but you can use any meat you like!

Cheese: I use mozzarella here but provolone and parmesan are also good.

Garlic Butter: Half butter and half olive oil with garlic and herbs is how I like it, but you can certainly opt for butter entirely or olive oil.

Variations: Add some finely chopped onions, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, sausage or any topping that you like, for a “Supreme Pizza Rose”!

  • 1/8 tsp 1/8 salt

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 Italian seasoning

  • 2 – 3 cloves 2 – 3 garlic, minced

  • Pizza toppings
  • 1 pkg 1 pepperoni slices

  • 1 cup 1 shredded cheese (mozzarella)

  • parmesan cheese for tops *optional

Directions

  • Heat oven to 400°.
  • Roll dough into rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Cut 1 1/2 inch strips and cut each strip in half. Lay pepperonis slices from center over top edge, Overlap pepperonis slightly. Sprinkle cheese over pepperoni. Starting at one end, roll up like a cinnamon roll, pinch dough together at bottom to hold cheese in. Pepperoni should be sticking out of the top, resembling a rose. Place pepperoni side up in greased baking pan. Repeat until all are rolled.
  • Mix garlic butter ingredients together and brush over roses.
  • Bake at 400° for 15 – 20 minutes until golden. Sprinkle tops with parmesan cheese as soon as they come out of the oven, if desired. Coll for 5 minutes before serving.
