Homemade Mayo

Homemade Mayo is easy to make and delicious! Whay are you still buying it at the store?? Stop it!

Ingredients and variations

Ingredients: Extra virgin olive oil, whole egg, garlic, dry mustard powder, lemon zest and juice, salt and white pepper.

Variations: Add extra garlic for a garlic mayo, add a chipotle pepper and 1 tbsp of adobo sauce for a chipotle mayo, add 2 tbsp of sriracha for a Sriracha mayo, add 2 tbsp of pesto sauce for a Pesto mayo or add your choice of fresh herbs such as tarragon, basil or rosemary. The possibilities are endless!! Use the oil you prefer (any oil works)

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup oil

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp white papper

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard powder or 1 tsp prepared Dijon

  • zest and juice from half a lemon

Directions

  • Place all ingredients in a blender or a bowl and use an immersion blender. Blend until a mayo forms. Taste for seasoning and add more if needed. Store in refrigerator and use within the week!
