Iron Skillet Cornbread

Ingredients
1 cup All purpose flour
2 cups Cornmeal
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Sal
2 cups Whole milk
1/2 cup Water
1 tsp Baking soda
2 Large eggs
3 tbsp Bacon fat, butter or lard melted
1/4 cup Jalapeño jelly for glaze (optional)
Directions
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Grease a 8 or 9 inch iron skillet generously.
- Mix all ingredients together until just incorporated. Do not over mix. Pour into greased skillet.
- Bake at 350° for 45 – 55 minutes until golden.
