Ingredients

  • 1 cup All purpose flour

  • 2 cups Cornmeal

  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

  • 1 tsp Baking powder

  • 1 tsp Sal

  • 2 cups Whole milk

  • 1/2 cup Water

  • 1 tsp Baking soda

  • 2 Large eggs

  • 3 tbsp Bacon fat, butter or lard melted

  • 1/4 cup Jalapeño jelly for glaze (optional)

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Grease a 8 or 9 inch iron skillet generously.
  • Mix all ingredients together until just incorporated. Do not over mix. Pour into greased skillet.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 – 55 minutes until golden.
