Mashed Potato French Fries

Thes Mashed Potato French Fries are the perfect use for leftover mashed potatoes! They are crispy, cheesy and full of delicious flavor. Super versatile as well, flavor them how you like and add your favorite cheese!

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: Potatoes, Tapioca flour, extra sharp cheddar cheese, jalapeno powder, salt, pepper and oil.

Variations: Cornstarch can replace tapioca flour if desired, Use any cold mashed potatoes, use the seasoning and cheese of your choice, use your favorite oil for frying.

Greek style – Add Greek seasoning, garlic and feta cheese, serve with Greek dressing.

Italian – Add Italian seasoning, parmesan cheese and serve with marinara.

Mexican – Add jalapeno powder or chopped jalapenos, taco seasoning, cheese and avocado ranch.

American – onion and garlic powder, mild cheddar or American cheese ranch for dipping.

Ingredients

  • French Fry Dough
  • 2 c mashed potatoes, cold

  • 3 tbsp tapioca flour

  • 1/2 c shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 tsp jalapeno powder

  • Extras
  • 2 – 3 c oil for frying

  • 2 tbsp fresh chives or herbs, chopped for garnish*optional

  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated for garnish*optional

Directions

  • Mix all ingredients together to form a dough, press out on parchment paper, cut into fry shapes and freeze for 30-60 minutes.
  • Heat oil in pan to 375°
  • Fry frozen fries in batches for about 3 minutes each side until golden brown. Drian on paper towel or a wire cooling rack.
  • Sprinkle with desired garnish and serve with dip.
