Mulled Cider Jelly

Delicious for glazing meat, tarts, fruit, cake layers, on top of baked goods….. This jelly is spicy and festive!

Yields 6 half pints

4 Cups mulled cider

1 Pkg. powdered pectin

6 1/2 Cups granulated sugar

2 Tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 Tsp ground clove

1/4 – 1/2 Tsp fresh ground nutmeg

Prepare your jars and canner. Keep jars warm in canner.

In a bowl, whisk sugar and spices. Set aside.

In a large heavy bottom pot, mix together cider and pectin. Bring to a boil.

Add sugar and spice mixture to cider and bring to a full, rolling boil. Boil 3 minutes.

Fill jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace.

Process jars 10 minutes.

*Tip: Keep metal spoons in the freezer to test the set on your jelly before you jar it up!

*Tip: If you don’t like a lot of spice, mull your cider and leave out the extra ground spices!
