Nonny’s Old Fashioned Fudge

This is a classic I will always hold dear, my favorite among fudges! Chocolate and peanut butter, oh my! My grandma’s fudge recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 cupa granulated sugar

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk

  • 4 tbsp light corn syrup

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 cup chopped nut *optional

Directions

  • Prepare a square 8×8 pan, line it with parchment paper and and butter it. Set aside until needed.
  • n a large heavy bottom pot, add sugar, milk, cocoa and corn syrup, Set heat on medium-high, bring to a boli and cook to soft ball stage.
  • Remove from heat and mix in butter, peanut butter, nuts (if adding) and vanilla.
  • Pour into prepared pan quickly and leave to set. about two hours.
  • When set, using the parchment paper, pull out of pan and cut into squares.
