Buns….Knots… Whatever shape you want to make them, these are super delicious! They are ultra soft, garlicy and melt in your mouth!
Potato Roll Garlic Buns / Knots

- Buns
3/4 cup Warm water
2 1/4 tsp (1 pkg) Instant yeast
1/3 cup Granulated sugar
4 – 5 cups Bread flour
1 cup Mashed potatoes, plain, (instant or real)
1/3 cup Milk powder
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Garlic
1 tsp Italian herbs
6 tbsp Butter, melted
2 Large eggs, room temp
- Garlic & Herb Butter
4 tbsp Butter, melted
4 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Garlic powder
1/2 tap Dried Italian herbs
1/4 tsp Salt
Directions
- To warm water, add yeast and a tsp of sugar. Let set 10 minutes.
- Mix all the ingredients together for the garlic & herb butter, set aside.
- Using your dough hook attachment, add 4 cups of flour and the rest of the ingredients, mix until dough forms adding the last cup of flour a little at a time as needed until dough pulls away from side of bowl. Knead for 7 minutes.
- Add dough to an oiled bowl, cover and let set in a warm place until dough has doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours. (I use my oven with the light on)
- Butter a 15 x 10 inch baking pan.
- Roll dough into golf ball sized pieces and place into prepared pan 1/2 inch apart. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Then brush on the garlic & herb butter, put back into the oven and bake 5 more minutes.
- Cool for 5 minutes and use a fork to pull apart the rolls.
Notes
- Sprinkle tops with parmesan cheese for a cheesy garlic bun!
