Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Beer Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 1 Ground beef 80/20 or 90/10

  • 2 2 Eggs

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Breadcrumbs or crushed pork rinds

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Chili sauce

  • 2 dashes 2 Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Fresh ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Salt

  • 1 tsp 1 Garlic powder

  • 1 tsp 1 Onion powder

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 Dried, chopped onion

  • 1 tsp 1 Dried parsley

  • 1 tsp 1 Powdered chicken bouillon

  • 2 tbsp 2 Lard, bacon grease or oil

  • Gravy
  • 1 cup 1 Dark beer

  • 2 cups 2 Beef broth

  • 2 tbsp 2 All purpose flour

  • 1 tsp 1 Salt

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Fresh ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp 1 Onion powder

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 Garlic powder

  • 2 tsp 2 Sugar

  • 1 cup 1 Sliced mushrooms

  • 1/4 Cup 1/4 Onions, sliced

  • 1 tsp 1 Powdered beef bouillon

Directions

  • Mix all ingredients for beef patties and shape into 4 oblong patties.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons lard in skillet. Sear patties in lard about 3 minutes on each side. Remove patties from pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add onions and mushrooms, cook 3 minutes.
    Sprinkle in flour and cook another 3 minutes.
    Whisk in beer, water and the rest of the ingredients
  • Slide the patties back in to pan with gravy, turn heat to low, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
