Seedless Blackberry Jam

This seedless Blackberry Jam is a delicious, sweet treat! Not Only can you put it on your toast and biscuits, but you can fill cookies, cakes and cupcakes with it too!! So many options, top your pork chops with it!

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: Black berries, granulated sugar and pectin.

Variations: A sugar substitute suitable for canning can replace sugar or honey can be used. Any fresh herb you like can also be added such as Rosemary and lemon zest/juice, Sage, thyme, Lavender, jalapeno or habanero can also be added. champagne can also be added. Make it your own.

Ingredients

  • 7 cups black berries, fresh or frozen

  • 7 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 box original Sure Jel

Directions

  • Put the berries through a food mill removing all the seeds
  • Measure 4 cups of the puree and add to a large pot with sugar. Cook on medium-high until a full rolling boil, sprinkle in pectin, stir well and return to a full rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute. check the set with a frozen spoon.
  • If jam is setting, fill jars with jam leaving 1/4-inch headspace, remove air bubbles, wipe rims and put on lids and bands to fingertip tight. Place immediately into simmering water bath canner, making sure jars are all covered with at least an inch of water overtop.
  • Process for 15 minutes adding 5 minutes accordingly.
