Ingredients

  • 3 tbs Bacon fat, butter or lard

  • 3 tbsp All purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole milk

  • 1 pint Tomatoes, diced or crushed

  • 1 tsp Powdered chicken bouillon

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp Fresh cracked black pepper

Directions

  • Make roux by cooking butter and flour together in a skillet on medium heat. Cook 3 minutes or until it starts to brown and smells “nutty”.
  • Carefully whisk in milk and spices, cook until thick. Add tomatoes and simmer on low 10 minutes.
