Cabbage Gratin

This will your new favorite side dish at your family dinner table! This gratin has only a few ingredients, is super easy and super delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 Head 1 Cabbage, chopped

  • 1 1 Onion, chopped

  • 1 1/2 Cups 1 1/2 Heavy cream

  • 2 Cloves 2 Garlic, peeled

  • 1 tsp 1 Salt

  • 1 Pinch 1 Cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Fresh grated black pepper

  • 2 Cups 2 Jarlsburg cheese, grated

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees and butter a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • Add chopped cabbage and onion to large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and boil for 10 minutes until tender. Drain well!
  • In a small pan, heat cream, garlic, salt and pepper on low, stirring often.
  • In baking dish, put down half the cabbage, sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over the cabbage, put down second half of cabbage and sprinkle the rest of the cheese over that layer. Remove garlic from cream and pour cream over cabbge and cheese.
  • Bake @350 degrees 30 minutes or until cheese is melted, bubbly and turning golden brown on top.
  • Let it rest 5 minutes before serving.
