Cabbage Gratin

this Cabbage Gratin is the perfect side dish to just about any dinner, it’s very low carb, keto friendly and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: Green cabbage, butter, onion, garlic, heavy cream, Swiss cheese, salt and pepper.

Variations: Use any cabbage, Use the cheese you prefer, add additional veggies you like such as bell pepper or jalapeños, add additional spices as desired.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups cabbage, chopped

  • 3 – 5 Cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 4 Oz Swiss cheese, grated or sliced thin

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg, grated (optional)

Directions

  • heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • in an oven safe skillet, cook cabbage, onions and garlic in butter until they start to turn a little brown around edges. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, stir in heavy cream and top with cheese.
  • bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  • let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
