My Grandma Griffin’s Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies

I have been making these cookies since my late teens! I spent at lot of weekends at Grandma’s house and did a lot of baking there. I love them so much and when my grandma passed, I got her little red recipe box with all of her hand written recipes and this is one of them.

1/2 Cup Lard, Butter or Shortning, Room Temp

1 Cup Granulated Sugar

1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar

2 Large Eggs, Room Temp

3/4 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

2 Cups All Purpose Flour

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1 Tsp Baking Powder

Set your oven heat to 375 degrees.

Wisk dry ingredients together and set aside.

Cream fat and sugar together, add eggs one at a time until incorporated, add peanut butter.

Add dry mixture to wet ingredients, mix until just combined.

Roll into 2 inch balls. Roll ball in granulated sugar. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Take a knife and dip it in milk and then make a crosswise fork (Hashtag!) print into the cookie. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar or some super fin sprinkles.

Bake @ 375 8-10 minutes.

Cool on wire rack.
