Quick Jambalaya

This Jambalaya is so quick and easy, its ready in 20 minutes, but has flavor like you took all day to make it! This is made using home canned Jambalaya Meal Starter: Jambalaya Meal Starter ā€“ Jeni Gough

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: Canned meal Starter, Shrimp, sea scallops smoked Chicken Andouille sausage and Jasmine rice.

Variations: You can use traditional andouille sausage, you can skip the scallops and just use shrimp, any rice you like of have on hand can be used, You can also add in some fresh or frozen okra. Any extra meat or veg can be used as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt Jambalaya Meal Starter

  • 1/4 – 1/2 lb sea scallops

  • 1/4-1/2 lb peeled and deveined shrimp

  • 1 lb andouille or your favorite smoked sausage sliced in rounds

  • Cajun seasoning to sprinkle on top of your dish if desired (We use Slap Ya Mama)

  • 1 tbsp oil or butter

Directions

  • Brown sausage in butter, add in rice and jambalaya meal starter.
  • Add scallops, okra and shrimp in frozen, bring to a boil.
  • Cover, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Sprinkle on extra seasoning and salt if desired.
  • Serve with some warm French bread and enjoy!
