Shrunken Head Witches Brew (Mulled Cider)

Festive and delicious, this brew will warm your soul! Quick and easy to make, pop it in your slow cooker and its ready when your little ghouls and goblins get home from trick-or-treating or when the party arrives!

Ingredients

  • 1 gal 1 Apple cider

  • 4 4 Apples, peeled and faces carved into them

  • 2 2 Star anise

  • 3 – 4 stickes 3 – 4 Cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp 1 Dried lemon peel or peel of 1 lemon

  • 1 tbsp 1 Dried orange peel or peel of 1 orange

  • 1/2 tbsp 1/2 Peppercorns

  • 1 tsp 1 Whole cloves

  • 1 tbsp 1 Whole allspice

  • 1 tbsp 1 Cardamom pods

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 Fresh grated nutmeg

Directions

  • Pour the cider into a slow cooker or pot.
  • Add all the whole spices to a cheese cloth and tie into a bundle. Drop it into the cider.
  • Grate the nutmeg into the cider, drop in the apple heads and cook on high 4 – 6 hours. To shrink the apple heads more, bake them @ 375° 25 minutes before putting them into the cider. If using a pot, cover and simmer on stovetop 1 hour.
  • Serve with extra nutmeg over the top and a cinnamon stick!
