Spicy Chicken Taco Dip

A delicious layered dip for any occasion! Toss in what you love! I make this from my home canned pantry.

Bean Dip Layer (First Layer)

2 Cans beans, black or pinto drained and rinsed

1 1/2 Tsp garlic powder

1 Tsp onion powder

1/2 Tsp salt

1/4 Tsp cayenne pepper

1 Tbsp minced dried onion

1/2 Tsp cumin

1/2 Tsp chili powder

1 Tsp fat (oil, butter or lard)

Zest of 1 lime

Juice of 1 lime

A few dashes hot sauce

1/4 Cup water

Toss it all in a pan and heat up, Mash with a potato masher adding more water if needed. When it’s as smooth as you want it, remove from heat and spread evenly in 9 inch pie plate. Cool for 15 minutes.

Second Layer

1/2 Cup sour cream

1/2 Cup mayo

1 Packet of fiesta ranch dip mix

Mix it all together and spread over bean layer.

Third Layer

1 Pint chicken or 1 lb chicken, cooked and shredded

1/4 Cup salsa (I use salsa verde)

Mix togther and sprinkle over sour cream layer.

Fourth Layer

Toppings of your choice! green onions, black olives, tomatoes, avocados, lettuce……..whatever you like, sprinkle it over the chicken.

Fifth Layer

2 – 3 Cups shredded cheese (I used cheddar for my jack-o-lantern)

Make a face out of produce! Make it fun!

Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.
