Stuffed Turkey Meatloaf

Festive and delicious! Stuffed turkey meatloaf is a budget friendly alternative for any holiday and it also makes a great freezer meal! This can be done ahead and frozen for a low stress holiday.

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: Ground Turkey, Eggs, bread crumbs, dijon mustard, whole milk, dried onions, dried parsley, poltry seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt and pepper. bread, onions, celery, butter, water and seasoning.

Variation: Ground chicken can be used instead of turkey, Gluten free options can be utilized. Use stuffing of your choice, a friut and nut stuffing with cranberry glaze is perfect for Christmas!

Budget friendly stuffed turkey

Ingredients

  • Meatloaf
  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs

  • 1/4 cup whole milk or half and half

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tbsp dried, minced onion

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 cups prepared stuffing (your choice)

  • Optional Glaze
  • 1 can jellied cranberry sauce

  • 1 bottle chili sauce

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • a pinch of salt

Directions

  • Mix everything together except stuffing, Lay a piece of plastic wrap out, Pour turkey mixture onto plastic wrap and spread out into a rectangle 1/2 inch thick. Refrigerate 30 minutes and evenly spread stuffing mixture over turkey. Roll up using the plastic wrap, Remove plastic wrap and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Brush loaf with soft butter and a couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce or cranberry glaze.
    for the glaze, melt cranberry sauce and sugar in a sauce pan m whisk in chili sauce and salt, until smooth. cool completely and brush over loaf.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 – 40 minutes until top turns golden brown and loaf is set.
  • cool slightly before slicing.
