Bloody Rat Meatloaves

Devilishly good meatloaf goes great with mashed boopatoes! This meatloaf is as delicious as it is festive.

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: loaf – 80/20 Ground beef, oatmeal, whole milk, eggs, dried onion, onion soup mix, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Sauce – ketchup, bbq sauce, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce and pepper.

Variations: Leaner meat can be used instead of 80/20, a ground meat mixture can also be used, bread crumbs can replace oatmeal. Change out or add any additional seasoning you like.

Ingredients

  • Meatlof
  • 1 1/2 lbs 1 1/2 80/20 ground beef

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 whole milk

  • 2 2 eggs

  • 1 1 envelope onion soup mix ( Lipton)

  • 1 tsp 1 Kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 ground black pepper

  • 2 tbsp 2 dried onions

  • 1 tbsp 1 Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp 1 Dijon mustard

  • 2 dashes 2 hot sauce

  • 1 tsp 1 garlic powder

  • 1 tsp 1 onion powder

  • 2 2 black olives, for garnish

  • 1 1 medium carrot, for garnish

  • Glaze
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Ketchup

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 bbq sauce

  • 2 tbsp 2 brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 pepper

  • 2 dashes 2 Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 dashes 2 liquid smoke *optional

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 cayenne pepper *optional

Directions

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Mix all meatloaf ingredients together and shape into 4 – 5 rat shapes on sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Whisk glaze ingredients together and brush over meatloaves.
  • Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until tops start getting toasted.
  • add eyes, ears and a tail after cooling slightly.

Notes

  • Pipe mashed potatoes from a freezer bag onto plate and add eyes making them bootatoes.
