Deliciously soft tortillas!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups 2 1/2 All purpose flour

  • 3/4 tsp 3/4 Salt

  • 3 tbsp 3 Lard, butter or shortning

  • 1 cup 1 Very hot water (you may need more or less)

Directions

  • Put flour, salt and lard in mixer with dough hook and get it started, pour in 3/4 cup of the water adding more as needed until a dough id formed. On #1 of your mixer, let dough knead 5 – 7 minutes until smooth.
  • On a dry counter, separate into 16 pieces or less depending on how large you want them. Roll them into balls, cover them with a little oil so they don’t dry out and cover them with plastic wrap to rest for 20 minutes.
  • Using a rolling pin, roll each out until you can see the counter through the dough. Put onto a dry, hot skillet and cook about 30 on each side, until no longer wet.
