Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 Warm water

  • 2 1/4 tsp (1pkg) 2 1/4 Instant yeast

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 Granulated sugar, divided

  • 1 cup 1 Mashed potatoes, real or instant

  • 4 – 5 cups 4 – 5 Bread flour

  • 2 tsp 2 Salt

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 Dry milk powder

  • 6 tbsp 6 Butter, melted

  • 2 2 Large eggs, room temp

Directions

  • To warm water, add yeast and a tsp of sugar. Let set 10 minutes.
  • Using your dough hook attachment, add 4 cups of flour and the rest of the ingredients, mix until dough forms adding the last cup of flour a little at a time as needed until dough pulls away from side of bowl. Knead for 7 minutes.
  • Add dough to an oiled bowl, cover and let set in a warm place until dough has doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours. (I use my oven with the light on)
  • Butter a 15 x 10 inch baking pan.
  • Roll dough into golf ball sized pieces and place into prepared pan 1/2 inch apart. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
  • Lightly brush tops with melted butter. Cool for 5 minutes and use a fork to pull apart the rolls.

  1. This was the same recipe my mother used for about 20+ years… she would make dozens at at time for the Senior Center & Potlucks… everyone loved them and they were the first foods disappearing..
