Be sure to ring in th season with this gingerbread! It is as moist and delicious as it is festive!
Yields 2 loaves
1/2 Cup granulated sugar
1 Cup unsalted butter, room temp
2 Large eggs
1 Cup maple syrup
1 Cup molasses
4 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
2 Tsp ground cinnamon
2 Tsp ground ginger
1/2 Tsp ground clove
1 Tsp salt
2 Tsp baking soda
2 Cups boiling water
Heat oven to 325 degrees f.
Mix dry ingredients and set aside.
Grease and flour (magic goop) or spray to loaf pans.
In a large bowl, whisk butter, sugar, eggs, molasses and maple syrup.
Alternate adding flour mixure and boiling water to butter and sugar mixture. Stir until just incorported.
Pour batter into prepared pans and bake @ 325 degrees 45 minuts or until center springs back.
Cool in pan 10 minutes and pour out onto cooling racks to cool completely.
