Budget Friendly Picadillo is always a crowd pleaser! Picadillo is comfort food to the max!

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: ground beef, white onion, russet potatoes, plum tomatoes, green chilis, water, chicken bouillon, Mexican oregano, ground cumin, chili powder, oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.

Variations: Any ground meat can be used such as: pork, chicken, turkey, breakfast sausage, chorizo, any tomato, onion or potato you have is fine to use, use your favorite oil.

Serving Suggestions: Eat with tortillas and salsa or by itself. Add cheese, chopped onions, avocado if desired. Top with a fried egg, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley or cilantro.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground beef

  • 1 white onion, chopped

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 7 oz green chillis, roasted and chopped

  • 4 tomatoes, diced

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 2 tsp onion powder

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp Mexican oregano

  • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 11/2 tsp powdered chicken bouillon

  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Cook potatoes in oil for 3 minutes on medium high, add onions, beef and tomatoes, cook until beef is just cooked through, Add the rest of thr ingredients.
  • Cover and cook on low until potatoes are fork tender, uncover and cook until liquid is reduced by half.
