Polynesian Spam Kabobs

Something delicious to do with those cans of Spam you are stocking in your pantry! These are fast, easy and really good! Sweet, salty and sassy! Great for indoor or outdoor grilling.

Ingredients and Variations

Ingredients: Spam (I used Turkey Spam) Orange bell pepper, canned pineapple chunks, White onion, low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, toasted sesame oil, vegetable oil, cayenne pepper, ground ginger, garlic powder and onion powder.

Variations: Any Spam flavor can be used, Use your favorite color of bell pepper, use the onions you have (white are more mild)

Ingredients

  • 1 can Spam – cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1 can Pineapple chunks

  • 2 red bell peppers, cut into 1-inch squares

  • 2 medium white onions, cut into wedges

  • Sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp Pineapple juice, reserved from can

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp ground ginger or fresh grated

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove fresh minced

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Directions

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 1 hour or using stainless steel thread spam, pineapple and vegetables onto skewers.
  • Whisk all sauce ingredients together and brush kabobs generously.
  • Grill kabobs just until warmed through and getting char marks, about 2 – 3 minutes per side.
  • Sprinkle with some toasted sesame seeds to serve if desired, serve with rice, salad or veg.
