Chili Lime Freezer Roux

Store up to 6 months in the freezer!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 lb 1/3 Salted butter, softened

  • 2/3 cup 2/3 All purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp 1 Chili lime seasoning

  • 2 tsp 2 Garlic powder

Directions

  • Whisk it all together until well incorporated.
  • Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper and put down tablespoons of roux,. Freeze for 1 hour.
  • Label a freezer bag , add in frozen roux, remove air and freeze up to 6months.
  • To use: Add 1 roux to 1/4 cup broth or milk, bring to a boil until thickened. Add veg and 2 oz of cheese or 2 tbsp heavy cream if you like.
